i may say this is a very fed-up album overall, its good and that but you know, afx has better albums than this one, even though it still has great songs such as

• xtal
• tha
• pulsewidth
• ptolemy
• hedphelym

these songs are my personal favorites from the album.

the sound

the sound of this album, what i have to say… its awesome, songs like tha, or hedphelym get you in a weird, techno trance almost “tribal” mood (specially tha)

xtal, god damn, that punchy low fidelity kick plus the very, VERY distant and unnoticeable melodic bass all combined with the “skeeter melody” (i call it like that because it reminds me of the sm64 spiders) dont ask why and lets not forget the drums, so… so catchy.

overall opinion

selected ambient works is a great kickoff to get onto afx and IDM altogether, great music, great sound,
